Nike Dominates 2009
Tiger snatched a victory at the FedEx cup and added another victory to Nikes list this week. Nike golfers have taken the 2009 majors by storm and won 10 time on the PGA. Also there have been 14 wins across the globe.
2009 is certainly the year for Nike especially its golfers. Nike athletes have dominated major championships with 14 wins around the world, 10 victories on the PGA Tour, one victory on the LPGA tour. Tiger has made a fantastic come back by winning the Fed Ex cup and steady performances throughout the year. He has won 6 times this year and had no other worse finish than second.
Over half of the majors were won by Nike tour players. Two of these were Lucas Glover who won the U.S Open and Stewart Cink won The Open Championship. They became the first players to win a major using a square headed driver. The SQ Sumo² has become extremely popular. Both Cink and Glover were using Nike METHOD putters to win their tournaments.
Bo Van Pelt and Paul Casey won a PGA Tour Title at the US Bank Championships and the Shell Houston Open.
Suzann Pettersen took a win for the Ladies as she won the CN Canadian Women’s Open on the LPGA Tour.
Nike have some impressive statistics as between June21 to September 22 they won seven out of 15 PGA Tour events. All of the triumphant Nike players have been using Nike SQ Drivers, Nike Irons, Nike One Balls and Nike Footwear.
