USA Solheim Cup captain has been announced this week for 2011. Rosie Jones has been named and is the popular choice.

The USA have had a good roll of wins over four years against Europe. The Solheim cup will be held between 23-25 September at Killeen Castle in County Meath, Ireland.

Jones has had a successfully career in the Solheim cup and has played in seven winning ones. She sank the winning putt in 2002 to take the victory for the USA. She has recently said, “I am honoured and absolutely ecstatic to be chosen as captain.”

“The Solheim cup has been a huge part of my career as a player.” Rosie Jones has won 13 PGLA Tour championships in her career and is looking to give some good advice to her side.

USA have always dominated the Solheim cup by winning eight titles to Europe’s three. Jones has set targets as she has scored 12 points in 7 appearances.
