Ernie Els took the WGC Ca Championship title this week beating Charl Schwartzel in the final round. He shot a fantastic final score of 66 to clinch the title.
Els took the title by four shots to finish 18 under par to win since 2008 Honda Classic. Padraig Harrington looked like he was in good form however could not keep up with the pace on the final round. He finished with a level par which left him in third place.
Paul Casey, England, finished 10 under par alongside Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell. "I felt my game was in good shape. I just wanted to come out and prove it to myself," said Els, whose victory takes him back in front of Colin Montgomerie as the European Tour's leading career money-winner.
"I've got a take a lot of positives from this heading into the Masters next month."
This was a good time for Els to win as he finished 67th in this year’s Honda Classic last week, ” I had to really trust those changes I made last weekend and today was a great day for it," said Els, whose 63rd professional title takes him back into the world's top 10.
"The wind was blowing and I had to come up with the goods."
Ernie began the day on the same as Schwartzel and missed some vital birdie opportunities. However he picked up three birdies in the final round.
He certainly looks back on form and is looking to take another title shortly.
