BMW have announced that they will be extending their partnership of the Ryder Cup through to 2014, when it is staged at the Gleneagles Golf Course in Scotland.

BMW is already the official partner of this year’s Ryder Cup which is being held at the Celtic Manor in Wales in October. They will also be the European Partner when the competition takes place in the USA in 2012.

Colin Montgomerie, Europe’s 2010 Ryder Cup Captain, said: “I speak not only on behalf of The Ryder Cup players but every Member of The European Tour and we thank BMW for their complete commitment and confidence that it gives us over the next, four years. In these economic times, to have this confidence for us is vital."

BMW already have a big presence on the European Golf Tour scene. They are the official car of the European Tour and also sponsor the BMW PGA Championship, the BMW Italian Open and BMW International Open.

By sponsoring the BMW Championship on the PGA tour, they are the only company involved on both leading golf tours on both sides of the Atlantic.
